Educator Resources

WELCOME EDUCATORS!

We are delighted you are interested in joining us.  On this page, you can find examples of how students and teachers are using Write4Change, including:

MULTIMEDIA PROJECTS

Many educators use Write4Change as an amplification platform for the exciting work that students are doing in their class. As a Google+ community, Write4Change is a great place to share and get feedback on text, image, video, and hyperlinked projects.

Here are some projects students have shared on Write4Change:

Students also share work-in-progress to get feedback from the Write4Change community. Here are some examples of what students have shared:

Educators can also use curriculum guides we have developed for creating multimedia projects specifically tailored for Write4Change.You can download the full curriculum of our Public Space Project and our Story Project here.

CREATIVE WRITING PROMPTS

Many students share their creative writing and media projects on Write4Change without prompting, but some teachers use prompts to spark student ideas and engagement. Below are some of the prompts students have responded to on Write4Change:

If you could visit any other decade from the past 100 years, which would you choose?

When have you felt like things were out of your control?

Do you remember your most recent dream? Use it as inspiration for a story or poem.

CROSS-CULTURAL EXCHANGES

Since Write4Change is a global community, students often enjoy learning about their peers’ homes, experiences, and tastes around the world. Educators can encourage students to share images, stories, and videos about themselves and their culture, such as the following:

Words from home: what languages do you speak at home? what does your home sound like? What phrases are used there?

COLLABORATION ACTIVITIES

Write4Change educators often work together on collaboration projects. These projects help students connect more intentionally with other students in a partner classroom across the globe. Here are some ideas for collaboration activities:
